Angela Chee is a media/communication coach and keynote speaker.  A former TV news anchor/reporter, she is now on a mission to inspire, empower and elevate the voices of women and people of color through power, presence and representation.  Her keynotes, programs and trainings help leaders be YOU, Amplified!®-to own their voice and power, break through their barriers, amplify their message and mission and step into their leadership.

Angela has worked in top TV markets from KCBS/KCAL and KNBC in Los Angeles to Fox 6 and KNSD in San Diego. She has hosted shows for networks like E! Entertainment, HGTV (Home and Garden Television), Channel One News and helped launch Entertainment Tonight China. She was the featured media mentor/expert on Lifetime’s “The Pop Game” and has appeared as an expert on a variety of local and national shows including The Today Show.  Angela has also made appearances in film and TV from Blades of Glory to No Ordinary Family, Heroes and more.  She serves on the Media Advisory Board of the Asian Culture and Media Alliance and was founder of The Zen Mom®, an inspirational and informative website for moms.

Her speaking career began at the early age of 15, when she was the first Asian American woman to win the title of “Miss California National Teen-Ager.” Now Angela presents inspirational and transformative keynotes and corporate trainings for Fortune 500 companies, universities, and professional associations on topics related to women’s empowerment, communication, diversity and media. As a consultant, she helps visionary leaders feel clear, confident and connected through YOU, Amplified!™one-on-one coaching, group workshops and online programs.

Cultural differences and stereotypes can have a major impact on who we are, how we act, and how we lead-both consciously and subconsciously. Some see these differences as an obstacle, but Angela believes they can empower us. Growing up a California girl with Chinese immigrant parents, she had two cultures shaping her identity. Angela shares her story of breaking through barriers and cultural stereotypes to achieve personal and professional success and fulfillment.

The Power Of “The Only”- How to go from surviving to thriving and create real change within yourself and your organization

Recent studies show being “The Only” (woman in the room) is still a common experience for women. It’s not only stressful, but can have a negative impact. For real change to happen, organizations need to shift, more men need to join the conversation and a there needs to be a culture transformation, but what happens in the meantime? 

Angela believes being “The Only” can be empowering.  It doesn’t have to be a burden. It’s can be an opportunity to shift the conversation and culture.  She shares her story of challenging stereotypes and carving her own path.
